8. Are your units clean?
Yes. All our Bouncy Castles and inflatables are cleaned after each hire and disinfected on delivery. We are committed to making sure that all children are playing in a clean, healthy, and safe environment. We do ask however, that you do not allow any children to take sweets, drinks or ice cream on to the Bouncing Castles or games. Thank you.
9. What sort of surface do you need for the inflatable?
Inflatables situated outdoors need to be set up on a flat surface preferably a grassy area where the unit can be staked down. We also have sand bags, weights and ropes for where stakes are unable to be used. The area must be clear of litter and sharp objects such as rocks, broken glass etc, not mucky, muddy or covered in dog’s mess. We reserve the right to cancel the booking and not install our equipment on unsuitable ground. We recommend that grass is cut prior to your event/party. Thank you
10. Can the bouncy castle be set up on a slope?
No this is not possible however if it is a very slight grass slope it may be ok, you will need to discuss this prior to the booking by calling us on 087-2222100, taking a photo of the area and email it in to us at info@pelican.ie or perhaps contact us to arrange site inspection.
11. Can you deliver with a narrow side entrance or take castle through the house?
Bouncy castles are often bigger and heavier than most people expect, and so to move them we use large sack trucks. Please indicate when booking the width of your side entrance (this can be answered when booking online also) Unfortunately if it should rain, water will get inside the inflatable and this tends to drain out whilst being removed, sometimes on your carpet! Please contact us to discuss what options are available to you prior to booking if your side entrance is under 3 foot wide or if the unit will need to be taken through the house. Please Note : our delivery team will wear plastic shoes covers we recommend you book inflatables that can be can be carried through your house if necessary
12. Can you set up on concrete/driveways/decking?
We can set up most of our inflatables on grass/tarmac/concrete/decking. However, we don't recommend erecting Large or Super slides on a hard surface and we reserve the right to refuse to set up any inflatable in an area that we deem to be unsafe for children to play on. We use sand-bags, weights and ropes if necessary to weight the inflatables on hard surfaces, extra safety mats and ground sheets can be used to protect both children and underneath the inflatables. However, we ask you to inform us when booking to enable us to bring extra. Sumo Suits need to be set up on grass due to safety reasons and please note we don't allow sumo's to be left in the rain - they must be taken inside
13. How long does it take to set up/inflate/deflate/pack up the inflatable?
The bouncy castles take approx 15 minutes to set up and secure, and approximately 20 - 30 minutes to collect depending on which inflatables are hired as larger units and multiple items take longer.
13. How much space is needed?
We need a 3ft wide clear access to deliver smaller inflatables and 4ft + for larger items.
You will need to allow a minimum of 4 feet at the front and rear of castle and 2 feet either side this is to allow access and the blower at rear. Please make sure all dog mess and litter, garden items such as toys, swings, slides & patio furniture are removed from the area where the castle is to be situated. Please note that the inflatables cannot be touching any walls, fencing, garden buildings as it will most certainly damage the inflatables.

We will always do our very best to accommodate specific delivery and collection times requested but can't always guarantee it.
If you have booked a hall for your party we can accommodate special delivery times providing it is confirmed at time of booking.
15. What if it rains?
All of our outdoor castles have built in covers attached to protect children from strong sunshine while also adding light protection in showery conditions. Each inflatable has a guide printed on the outside and our delivery team will go through various safety instructions before they leave.

Roughly around €2.00 electric per day. It is important to note that the inflation fan should be kept running all day. Please Do Not allow the kids to plug and unplug the inflatables (especially while they are on them) as this is extremely dangerous and could cause injury or cause the fan to trip and cut out. We will not be held responsible for fans that cut out due to excessive unplugging. Also, if more than 1 inflatable is hired - they must be plugged in separately and children should not be allowed on until the units are fully inflated!
