Hundreds of bouncy castle operators face going out of business following a decision by the industry’s main UK-based insurance provider to withdraw from the Irish market.
Management at Pelican Promotions, a Co Louth company employing up to 36 people and with a store of 224 bouncy castles and inflatables, told their staff the news on Thursday.
We have to close down,” said the family business owner Mandy Fee . She said the firm had always been extremely safety conscious and had not had a successful insurance claim since they set up in 1991. it is with regret we have to announce that Pelican Promotions has ceased trading from today Tuesday 13th August 2019, after 29 years in buisness
It’s not just a case of closing down; it’s a case of me losing everything,Mandy said
Myself and Mandy would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all our customers and clients. To say we are devasted is an understatement but we did everything we could to secure an alternative insurance provider. All existing bookings will be honored by local suppliers.
